Migrative provides a professional Spanish–English interpreting service for an appointment before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
What is contracted is the availability of an interpreter for a specific date, time and office. It does not cover the outcome of the interview or any given amount of interpreting.
The service is provided solely to the person named on the USCIS appointment notice.
Assistance to any other person, including family members or companions, requires a separate Form G-1256 and full payment for a separate service.
Migrative's interpreters are proficient in English and Spanish and have a minimum of five years of experience.
The interpreter is not an attorney or accredited representative and does not provide legal advice. Any guidance is limited to the form of the interview: how it proceeds, what to expect and how to communicate with the officer. It never tells the applicant what to answer, and it does not assess the officer's questions or the applicant's answers.
The minimum booking is three hours.
The service is deemed rendered from the time stated on the USCIS appointment notice. The interpreter arrives between five and fifteen minutes before that time.
Waiting time counts as service time from the moment the interpreter arrives.
The three included hours run from the time stated on the USCIS appointment notice and include waiting time.
Once those three hours are used, additional hours accrue immediately and automatically, with no grace period. They are billed as full hours: one minute into a new hour, that hour counts in full. Hours are not split or prorated.
The additional-hour rate is $90, and it is also stated at the time of booking.
Additional hours are settled at the end of the interview, directly with the interpreter.
The officer may decide, at their sole discretion, not to use the interpreter or to continue the interview in the applicant's own language.
In those cases the service is deemed rendered and no refund applies. The interpreter not being used before the officer does not create any credit in the client's favor.
Cancellation by the client: no refund applies.
Cancellation or rescheduling by USCIS: Migrative assigns a new date at no cost.
If the assigned interpreter cannot attend, Migrative appoints another one at no cost.
A refund applies only when the interpreter fails to attend due to force majeure or an unforeseeable event, such as a natural disaster or an accident, and when Migrative cancels the service.
The price is not subject to discounts.
Purchasing the service constitutes full acceptance of these terms.
